Coordinated by <strong>Eurecat\u2019s Water, Air and Soil Unit<\/strong>, this project is developing an <strong>in situ bioremediation strategy based on microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi capable of degrading pollutants directly in the contaminated soil<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The project combines these biological processes with <strong>low-pressure injection technologies<\/strong>, designed to deliver the treatment into the subsurface while minimising disturbance to the site.<\/p><p>Participation in ISPTS 2026 provided an opportunity to share this approach with international specialists and exchange knowledge on emerging solutions for the <strong>monitoring, detection and remediation of persistent and emerging contaminants<\/strong>, as well as their impacts on the environment and
